13 Children
ITEM NUMBER:SCP-XXXX LEVEL 3/XXXX
CONTAINMENT CLASS:safe confidential

DISRUPTION CLASS: dark

SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES: Communiques between SCP-XXXX and representatives of Overwatch Command are to take place monthly. To the best of their ability, SCP-XXXX is expected to communicate the properties and Special Containment Procedures of the anomalous phenomena they have contained. Otherwise, SCP-XXXX is allowed to operate with impunity and limited interference.

Mobile Task Force Lambda-12 ("Pest Control") has been assigned to exigent containment threats encountered by SCP-XXXX which warrant human intervention.

DESCRIPTION: SCP-XXXX collectively designates thirteen mature spangle butterflies (Papilio protenor) operating an insectoid facsimile of the Foundation within Bengaluru, India. All instances demonstrate abnormal ability to identify, contain, and study paranormalities encountered in the wild. Instances are otherwise non-anomalous.

SCP-XXXX-1

Item #: SCP-XXXX-1

Containment Class:1 Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Fixed to a tree within the primary containment zone, the trunk of which is surrounded a circle of pebbles to demarcate the extent of its effect. The ground under it is repaired semi-regularly.

Description: An eldery Tzitziki cicada (Tibicen plebejus) which presumably migrated from the Aegean peninsula. Proximate objects degrade, age, or oxidate at a marginally exaggerated pace; given the brief lifespan of SCP-XXXX members, contact with its area of influence is usually fatal2. Due to its own advanced age, SCP-XXXX-1 cannot move without assistance.

Its buzzing has been noted to occasionally resemble unintelligible Koine Greek, although it remains unknown if this phenomenon is genuine or the result of top-down processing. SCP-XXXX instances do not regard this buzzing as abnormal.

NOTE: The special containment procedures enacted by SCP-XXXX are not viable for long-term containment, as the tree SCP-XXXX-1 is affixed to will eventually decay. It remains unclear if SCP-XXXX is cognizant of this.
