Amnestization Recovery Podcast (ARP)

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: The containment of SCP-XXXX has been allocated to three distinct mobile task forces operating under the collective designation Amalgamate Force Theta-13. It is considered imperative to the continued security of the Foundation that SCP-XXXX be neutralized.

The task forces composing Amalgamate Force Theta-13 and their functions are as follows:

  • MTF Sigma-3 ("Bibliographers"): Composed predominately of thaumaturgy-enabled individuals, MTF Sigma-3 will assign a small number of members to monitor ARP and determine the identities of callers by cross-referencing the Foundation's complete catalog of Persons of Interest who have undergone amnestization.
  • MTF Alpha-5 ("Honor Gaurd"): Assigned to the containment of subjects who have participated in ARP and their transportation to Site-17 until their amnestization and release.
  • MTF Tau-37 ("Fox Hunt"): Assembled to identify and locate PoI-XXXX-1 and PoI-XXXX-2, then neutralize SCP-XXXX itself.

If MTF Sigma-3 identifies a high-value Person of Interest participating in SCP-XXXX, the completion of which sufficiently threatens the security of the Foundation, offensive actions are to be taken against PoI-XXXX-1 and PoI-XXXX-2 to terminate the ARP broadcast to the best of the Foundation's ability.

Description: SCP-XXXX designates a method by which memories excised by Foundation-issue amnestics may be recovered. The ritual, memetic trigger, and/or anomalous ability facilitating this recovery are not currently understood, and is presumed to only be known by PoI-XXXX-1 and PoI-XXXX-2, its creators.

SCP-XXXX has only been demonstrated to exist during its usage in episodes of a podcast run by PoI-XXXX-1 and PoI-XXXX-2, officially recognized as the Amnestization Recovery Podcast and abbreviated to ARP for comedic effect. Episodes of ARP generally air on a weekly basis and require the activation of a Voyeur-Class thaumic construct within an internet-connected device to view.

In each episode, PoI-XXXX-1 and PoI-XXXX-2 invite listeners who believe they have experienced amnestization to call a supplied number and provide information about themselves to the hosts.1 After the information is supplied, the amnesticized memories will be relayed to the caller by PoI-XXXX-1 with near-perfect accuracy.

Although the majority of callers have been the subjects of routine amnestization related to the containment of low-value anomalous items, there exists the threat that a caller's amnestization occurred to repress knowledge of classified information valuable to the Foundation. The effects of such an informational security breach would be catastrophic to Foundation operations.

Addendum.XXXX.1: Testing

One member of MTF Sigma-3, designated σ-3 Dorothy, was subjected to Class-A amnestization of a mundane childhood memory and called the number provided during an episode of ARP. The transcript of the exchange which followed is attached below.

Addendum.XXXX.2: Recovered Transcript

On August 6, 2019, MTF Sigma-3 recorded the following exchange during an episode of ARP. The caller's identity is presently unknown.

Addendum.XXXX.3: Containment Update

On October 25, 2019, MTF Tau-37 determined the most likely location of the ARP broadcast suggested by information collected about its hosts. The task force mobilized and entered the shared apartment of PoI-XXXX-1 and PoI-XXXX-2. A transcript of the ensuing incident is attached below.

Addendum.XXXX.4: After involved psycheatric evaluation, all operatives of MTF Tau-37 have been diagnosed with varied psychological impairments, including hallucinatory episodes and ophidiophobia. As such, the task force has been provisionally disbanded.

TL τ-37 Rango, who appears to be most effected, has submitted a description of his hallucinations which may be relevant to SCP-XXXX itself.

All different. Sometimes the same. Always the man: always Hermes, sometimes Alex. They have different bodies, I forget the details. Hermes is a snake in man's clothing, Alex is a mass of pages in languages no one can read.
They say they'll be back soon.
